True Religion

Dear India Christian Fellowship (ICF) Friends,

Greetings in Jesus' matchless name. It is said that an adopted child is one that grows in its parent's heart instead of its mommy's tummy. How true those words are!

In the Bible, James boldly says, "Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father, is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world" (James 1:27 ESV). Now does this verse remind you of someone who "visited orphans and widows in their affliction" and yet "kept himself unstained from the world"? If you are thinking what I am thinking, the Lord Jesus comes to mind first! Yes, my dear friends, our Lord and Savior came to this earth and visited orphans (me and you) in our affliction paying the price for our sin, yet was kept unstained from the world. "O Lord, it was me who was the orphan in that blessed Bible verse! You have adopted me into Your family and I am growing in Your heart. What a wonderful revelation. Thank you Lord Jesus."

Friends, on that note I am thrilled that Peter Thomas will be bringing God's word to us this month. Peter will be speaking on the topic, "Abba Father: Adopted by God". He and his wife Vanita Thomas have three children: Sandeep, Sneha and Rachna. They are passionate about adoption, because God has adopted them into His family.

Let's keep praying and seeking the Lord. I look forward to seeing you on the 23rd.

For Him and In Him alone,
Richard Lewis
Your ICF Servant-President
